Sara Cote
Sara Cote is a U.S. Navy veteran with over ten years’ experience in design, interior architecture, and project management . Sara has worked on projects across the country ranging from furnishing hotels to supervising senior living home tenant improvements. She has studied business management, interior design, and construction management giving her a well-rounded background to help with all types of renovations and ground up builds.
Meliza Hawkins
Meliza Hawkins brings extensive experience in the construction industry to her role as Controller at KZ Miller Construction. With a deep understanding of financial management within the construction sector, Meliza oversees the company’s accounting department and is responsible for managing financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning. Her attention to detail and commitment to accuracy ensure the financial health and stability of the business. Meliza’s expertise and leadership play a key role in supporting KZ Miller’s growth and long-term success.
Sean Livingston
Sean Livingston serves as the Director of Construction at KZ Miller Construction, offering more than 20 years of experience in both ground-up and tenant improvement projects. With extensive expertise in project management, budgeting, and compliance, Sean has led a wide range of commercial developments, including restaurants, retail establishments, and financial institutions. His leadership ensures smooth project execution from blueprint review to final occupancy certification, all while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and clients. Sean holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage and is a licensed General Building Contractor with OSHA certification.
Julie Laszlo
Julie’s primary responsibilities include handling all operational accounting transactions and financial coordination of the CVS Pharmacy account. She also manages the financial activities of the general partners & the property management accounts.
Leah Petzen
Leah‘s extensive knowledge comes from 15 years’ experience in the Construction industry. As Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the COO, she has helped shaped the KZ Miller office it is today. Leah manages the day-to-day office operations of the company’s San Diego office including Subcontractor and vendor contracts, equipment leases, and company records. Additionally, Leah works closely with our Director of Pre-Construction assisting with estimating and project assisting.
Denise Ryan
Marnie Reese
Marnie is an experienced Project Coordinator at KZ Miller Construction, where she works closely with the Project Manager and Project Accountant to ensure seamless project execution. With a strong background in construction project management, compliance, and administration, she has successfully overseen multi-faceted projects while maintaining regulatory adherence and operational efficiency. Holding certifications in payroll compliance, project management, and human resource law, she brings a detail-oriented and solutions-driven approach to every project. Her ability to streamline processes, foster teamwork, and drive results has been recognized throughout her career.
Matthew Zimmerman
Matthew Zimmerman officially joined the KZ team in May of 2022. He currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii. Matt oversees, the "Ho’omaka Marketplace" ground up shopping center development in Kapolei. In addition, he assists our development team source new projects in Hawaii. Prior to joining KZ, Matt interned with Allied Builders. He graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Amanda Zimmerman
Amanda’s primary responsibilities include working on acquiring retail development projects in the California and Hawaii areas. Amanda oversees our project management team on managing core assets. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys being actively involved with Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and serves as a committee member on Kid Works Young Professionals. Amanda graduated from the University of San Diego in 2018 with degrees in Finance and Real Estate.
