Mark Zimmerman, Managing Partner at KZ Companies – a leading real estate development and investment company based out of Irvine, CA, has completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program at Long Beach City College – a $500 million commitment by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation to support small business growth and job creation across the United States.
KZ Companies (“KZ”) is one of the most recent recipients of the graduation certification from the 10,000 Small Businesses business and management education program. Mr. Zimmerman completed a four month, 120 hour curriculum as part of his commitment to grow KZ’s business. Mark stated he would recommend it to all interested small business owners because “the program allowed me to work on my business and removed me from the day to day operations of working in my business”.
Over the past 4 months, the business owners studied developing growth opportunities through understanding integral aspects of their businesses. The program also included extensive peer networking avenues, one-on-one business advisor opportunities and specialized workshops. The program’s alumni come back to report they are growing their businesses substantially and hiring more employees. A recent report by Babson College reported that 45% of participants created new jobs within six months of graduating, 64% reported an increase in revenue within the same period of time, and 80% of participants reported doing business with or providing referrals to each other.
The completion of the 10,000 Small Businesses program follows shortly after a significant milestone for KZ Companies – the launch of a specialized and scalable business segment focused on developing new stores for franchise business operators of Quick-Service Restaurants “QSRs”. KZ is offering a turnkey market strategy and development program to qualified franchisees throughout the US. “Our goal is to substantiate the 10,000 Small Businesses program by using our business services and capital to create at least 1,000 new jobs within the quick-service restaurant sector” said Mr. Zimmerman.
